I just (almost) finished painting the treehouse down at the farm.

Impressive, I know.
I don’t know that there’s much to say about it, really. I spent three-ish days out in the sun and wind. It’s been blowing at like 30MPH for the past few days. Whoever nicknamed Chicago clearly never spent time in Southern Arizona. In short: I’m sun-burned, wind-whipped, and covered with dust.
This is my new posse:

The white one back there is on a diet because she was SO FAT that her cheeks were covering her eyballs and she couldn’t see!

Jus hangin out, bein all coy and stuff

What?
And now, on to matters of taste: A debate has come to the forefront of my life lately regarding chickens as pets. I think it’s a horrible idea. Chickens are kind of gross, actually. They smell and poop a lot and make noise. Plus, they’re weird looking. I’m all for goats (see above).

Do you really want this in your house?

replace teh chimp with teh chicken and you’ll see why this is a BAD IDEA
LOL
other peoples’ terror is kind of hilarious
“Who’s killing her?”
“My chimPANZEE!!”
I am with you - the goats are the best…they’re like dogs. If you pet their head and feed them, they will fight one another for your love…
If I can’t have a chicken then I would like a hedgehog! Please?

Beautiful pictures! I’m with you about the chickens. I was all set to sign Amelia up for a preschool run by hippies. One highlight of the place was a mudhole that kids in just their underpants could wallow in. Then I noticed that live chickens were around the mud hole too. Sickening and horrific!
I LOVE CHICKS!! Goats, pigs, horses, too. But CHICKS…they are AWESOME! And I am talking about the feathered, egglaying kind right now. We have CHICKS (grown and now some new babies) and I like the sounds they make, I like the rhythm of their day, I like their EGGS! Our chicks have plenty of room to run around, so they don’t smell, they are amazingly curious to anything new (like a new shovel of dirt), and they scratch through horse poop eating fly larvae, keeping the fly population down. SO…I”m a YES for CHICKS as PETS! We also have a lot of pics of kids carrying our chicks around - they are gentle and some are easy to pick up.
